Tata Altroz unveiled: Review, Price, bookings, features, variants, specifications, other details you should know
Earlier this month, Tata finally revealed the production-spec Altroz hatchback. The model, which is due to launch in January 2020, enters the premium hatchback segment with two engine options and four variants to choose from. Tata is calling it the gold standard, and so today I intend to test that claim. And oh yeah – it’s named after an albatross. In case you’d missed that earlier.

Tata Altroz Price
We are expecting Tata Altroz price in India to be in the range of Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Altroz Bookings
Tata Motors has opened the bookings for the Altroz and the premium hatchback can be booked through the automaker’s official website for a token amount of Rs 21,000.

The Altroz is available in five variants — XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ(O).
Tata Altroz Features (Exteriors)
The new Altroz is quite stylish, to say the least. The bold grille is flanked by dual chamber projector headlamps (automatic) having LED DRLs. The new split taillamps and integrated spoiler give the rear a modern feel. Adding to the overall appeal of the premium hatchback are features like piano black ORVM, C-pillar mounted rear door handles, black contrasting roof and 16-inch laser cut alloy wheels
Tata Altroz Features (Interiors)
The cabin of the Altroz has been neatly designed keeping in mind most of the elements that a customer expects from a car of this segment. It is spacious and can easily accommodate three passengers at the back. The dash has unique layout christened as Floating Island by Tata Motors with blue ambient light and is finished in satin chrome. There are features like 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, 7-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, multifunction steering wheel, fully automatic AC, cruise control and 15-litre cooled glove box.
Tata Altroz Features (Safety)
This is one area where Tata Motors has always scored very high marks. Along with the ALFA architecture, the Altroz also boasts of an energy-absorbing body structure. The features like ABS with EBD and CSC, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder, high-speed alert system and impact sensing auto door unlock are standard. Reverse parking camera, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing front wipers and rear defogger are available with the higher variants.
Tata Altroz Engine
Tata Altroz gives the customers a couple of BS6 engine options. There is a 3-cylinder, 1.2-litre, Revotron petrol motor that makes 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. Also available is a 4-cylinder, 1.5-litre, Turbocharged Revotorq diesel mill that delivers 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Both the powertrains are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as of now.
Tata Altroz Colours
The new Altroz comes in five colour options — High-Street Gold, Skyline Silver, Downtown Red, Midtown Grey and Avenue White.
Tata Altroz Rivals
The new Altroz will be challenging Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza and Volkswagen Polo.
